Bruce Nofsinger, co-founder and principal of the 13-year-old strategic communications firm Topics Education, is an experienced presenter and facilitator.
Bruce leads the company’s Financial Education practice. He has designed education outreach campaigns and acted as an advisor to marketing and public affairs managers with some of America’s most recognized financial services brands, including: Bank of America, Citi Cards, Citigroup, Junior Achievement, Countrywide Financial, North Carolina State Treasurer, Fannie Mae Foundation, Wachovia, and Visa.
Bruce has extensive public speaking experience, sharing his expertise and passion for personal financial literacy. Some highlights include:
- Presented at the National Association of State Treasurers conference in December 2008
- Presented to the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) on the roles and value financial institutions provide in financial education in schools
- Guest on Charlotte Now with Mike Collins, the only locally-produced primetime public affairs program on commercial television in the Charlotte, NC market
- Guest on Charlotte Talks, an NPR talk show broadcast through much of North and South Carolina
- Facilitated a financial education meeting for stakeholders (legislative, education, nonprofit, corporate) from across North Carolina
- Facilitated a day-long launch event for the SCI FI Channel’s Visions for Tomorrow public affairs campaign for internal and external stakeholders, including Bonnie Hammer (President of USA Networks) and John Podesta (former Chief of Staff to Bill Clinton)
- Led a breakout session at the Cause Marketing Forum on cause marketing and education outreach
- Facilitated a 3-day financial education forum for key stakeholders across all New England states in late October 2008
- Guest on Charlotte Now with Mike Collins for a second time on November 2, 2008 on WJZK CW46
- Recorded personal commentary on financial literacy for local NPR affiliate, WFAE
