Topics Education Principal to Facilitate Financial Education Stakeholder Conference

CHARLOTTE, NC – Bruce Nofsinger, Principal at Topics Education and leader of the firm’s Financial Education practice area will act as the facilitator at the New England Youth Financial Education Forum at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston on October 27-29, 2008. The conference brings together established stakeholders in Financial Education from each New England state to share insights and learn from one another in an effort to move forward the conversation and promote action around financial literacy. Nofsinger, who has designed education outreach campaigns and acted as an advisor to marketing and public affairs managers with some of America’s most recognized financial institutions, will lead the group of stakeholders through a series of roundtable discussions over multiple days.

“More than ever, we need to enlist as many stakeholders as we can in the pressing need to put greater emphasis on personal financial education,” states Nofsinger. “This event is one step towards creating a big impact in New England and I’m confident we will leave the conference filled with ideas from others and pointed in a direction that will build from the Forum’s foundation.”

The presenting sponsors of the New England Youth Financial Education Forum are Citi and the National Council of Economic Education. Those contributing to the organization and structure of the event include representatives from Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Internal Revenue Services (IRS), New England Jump$tart Coalition and United States Treasury Office of Financial Education.
